Help Fund Yasmin's New Ride for Animal Rescue

Hi! My name is Yasmin Rivera I am a on the ground rescuer in Newark New Jersey. I save hundreds of animals a year not only cats and dogs, but wildlife as well. When I say I am on the ground what I mean

is I am feet down on the ground in abandoned buildings and in horrible areas doing the physical work of rescuing these animals. I also get calls from my friends from my local police department and fire department for assistance. I have some good friends in the field that are also animal lovers and call me for help. I do not do adoptions, I save animals that are injured or in bad neglectful situations. I take them home ,I raise funds for vetting, I house them, and even transport them to reputable rescue groups that I work with as they have open space. As for the wild life, I transport them to wildlife rehabbers or sanctuary’s. The only thing I don’t do is collect an adoption fee. If I did adoptions and I had to wait for every single animal I save to be adopted, I would not be able to save the hundreds of lives I get to save every year. I was also just featured on the dodo for one of my rescues of an abandoned pit bull named Mia that was tied up abandoned and left behind in my city. My transmission on my car broke and I need another ride. I’m honestly always getting some little piece of junk. Because I am not able to afford a new car payment plus full coverage car insurance. Doing the work that I do I already live beyond my means renting a three bedroom when I’m the only human here so that I can do this work. Since I’m always getting some little beat up ride, they never last long. I’m raising these $5,500 so I can get something a little decent that’s not going to break down on me right away. I get daily calls of people looking for help for broken animals in my city and surrounding areas and that’s impossible to do without a car. It also makes it nearly impossible to feed my outside cats that wait for me. Which is heartbreaking for me and devastating for them.
