Fund Wayne Jones' Memorial Stone Journey

Hi, I’m Sean, one of the remaining sons and daughters of Wayne Jones! Unfortunately, in February 2024, he passed away from esophageal cancer which had metastasized and moved into his abdomen.

While I count myself as fortunate that I got to see him before he died, I still have the duty to mark his grave, which we were unable to do. I’m asking for help from anybody who is willing in this endeavor. My father was a complicated man and deserves to be remembered and have his resting place marked.

I’ll be working on an artistic series called the Faces of a Father. The first of which has been finished, and four more pieces are to come. I’m hoping to sell copies of that image in order to help fund this endeavor as well. But anything that anyone is willing to help provide would be much appreciated.

I believe that it will take me about $10,000 to travel three times to Alaska, quarry the stone, carve the stone, and transport it to its resting place. This would cover the tools required, transportation to and from Omaha, wages that I might lose during the three trips, and a vehicle and gas to transport the marker once I have acquired it and carved it. There are other things that are needed as well, such as tools and commissioning of other artists involved in the creative process for the design.
