Hello, I'm Sallie Damron; I'm fundraising for a dear friend of over 30 years recently diagnosed with breast cancer. Vicki (Haynes) Larson is a mother of three young children, she teaches high school English and coaches Track and Cross Country, and her battle with breast cancer began in June 2022 when she found a lump during a routine self-check.

Her treatment begins this month. The first step is surgery which will detect if cancer has reached her lymph nodes. If it has, Vicki will have 4-6 weeks of radiation, then a double mastectomy and reconstruction. If her lymph nodes are cancer-free, she will still have the double mastectomy and reconstruction.

Vicki has medical insurance (PTL), but she can still expect out-of-pocket expenses. The request for $17k is to cover the 20% surgery costs, supplemental funds for her leave of absence, and other incidental expenses associated with the treatment.

Vicki is kind, thoughtful, and spirited. She is a fantastic mother and wife and the best friend a person could have. Please donate to help Vicki battle cancer without the additional hardship of financial stress.
