Hi, I'm 16-year-old Tobi. I'm raising $1,600 to pay my tuition for a pre-college program. Becoming an oncologist is my dream. At the ripe age of 5, I was introduced to the word cancer. My father, aged 35, was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer, later passing away when I was 10. During those 4-5 years, I saw my dad slowly deteriorating. From him just needing chemotherapy and a colostomy bag, to being completely paralyzed in a coma during his last moments. The pain and suffering not only my father faced but also the others around him as well were excruciating. Ever since I saw him suffer from the moment he started chemo to the moment he passed, I knew my heart was set on figuring out how to prevent this vicious disease. My biggest desire in life is to solve how to prevent cancer, help those with cancer, and most importantly, make sure no man, no woman, no child, no elderly person, absolutely no one spends their life suffering with this uncontrollable illness. Taking this course would help me take the first step in achieving my goal of becoming an oncologist. This program gives me the essential knowledge of how cancer spreads, the diagnosis process, the survivorship of those with cancer, and learning about the various cancer treatment options.
