Fund to Support Liesel
Donation protected
First and foremost we would like to thank everyone for their support through text messages, calls, Facebook comments, and good old fashion backyard hang outs. The continued support for Liesel has once again made our family extremely grateful for the network of people her and Eric have gathered over the years.
We know this positivity will never run dry, but we encourage all to continue reaching out and providing her with laughs and smiles.
As most of you may already be aware, Liesel was diagnosed with Stage 2 Hodgkin’s Lymphoma on July 5th 2018. The diagnoses quickly changed lives but never took her positivity away; if anything, her positive spirit was amplified. After diagnosing an initial blood clot, a chest x-ray and further tests all pointed to the softball sized tumor in her chest, cancer.
Liesel’s new team of doctors have been incredible thus far. As the main focus of her treatment, Liesel has started Chemotherapy and will continue with treatments until the end of 2018. Her 6-month treatment schedule, consisting of eleven rounds of chemotherapy, is also complimented with various other lab work appointments, follow up appointments with oncology, cardiothoracic appointments etc. Thus, resources available now have been allocated to aid in relief from the time of her diagnosis, but further monetary funds will be needed to continue this healing path.
All donated funds will go straight to supporting and aiding Liesel throughout this treatment period in her life. Specifically, funds donated will be used to offset her currently allocated medical bills from lab work to hospital stays and all that may fall in between. Chemotherapy alone consists of a day spent at the hospital, thus, expenses such as gas, lunches and home remedy treatments for side effects like nausea, fatigue, irregular body temperate etc, are just some of the costs your donation will go towards. Outside of regular treatment expenses, Liesel has had to take time off from her passion and business at Liesel Christine Salon. The Mother/Daughter partnership is still up and running, but due to the immense amount of appointments, days are having to be cut short or moved around. Hence, income from their business has slowed and donations will be used to counteract every day expenses such as groceries, in addition to treatment expenses.
If financial donations are not something you can afford at this point in time, we understand. Other ways to help Liesel in her fight against cancer, are available. For example, the Facebook comments she reads, they put a smile on her face, so always, always feel free to show her you care and that you are available to help if needed (grocery shopping, cooking food/meal prep, or donating later).
As my older sister, Liesel has supported me with every positive change and momentous achievement I have accomplished in my life. She is the family cheerleader for all. Her courage and determination, paired with that uplifting attitude, is infectious and inspiring for others to achieve their goals and dreams. As I continue to look up too and be inspired by my sister in this trying time, I am shocked at her constant state of perseverance. So please, if Liesel has ever blessed your life with her gracious spirit, please consider donating any amount that you can.
Any and all donations are welcome, and any donation received creates a big impact on Liesel’s care.
