This fundraiser has been started on behalf of Carlos Espinoza and his wonderful mother, Eladia Lopez. Over the past weeks, Eladia, who resides in Guatemala, was diagnosed with Covid-19. Due to both the serious nature of the disease and the lack of proper medical care and equipment in Guatemala, her condition rapidly deteriorated and she is currently in critical condition in ICU. To even find an open bed in a hospital with the resources needed to save her life has put such a financial strain on the entire family, it will take years to recover from. To make matters worse, they are unable to see her and be with her throughout this ordeal, and our Carlos has had to navigate this entire ordeal from afar. Not surprisingly, Carlos has maintained a positive and supportive attitude while continuing to go above and beyond to help those around him. Whether it be from Belle Haven, New Canaan Country Club, New Canaan Racquet Club or Mead Park, we have all come to know Carlos and what a remarkable person he is. Constantly looking to help others whenever they ask, it is our turn to help him!
