FUND TIN'S EDUCATION FEES ✏️☀️
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Tin, I'm a 23 year-old Ecuadorian student. A year ago I got accepted at the renowned Design Academy Eindhoven.
As a non-European the tuition fee is 30 000 euros for a two-year master program, which is about seven times higher than for European students. This is way too expensive for me, but I was able to get a loan and one of the rare scholarships from the Dutch government to cover the expenses of the first year.
For the second year, however, I won't be able to get another loan or scholarship and this is why I need your help, the last resort for finishing the second year of my study. I think that through solidarity and collective action everything is possible and I would be forever grateful for your support!
Six years ago I left Ecuador pursuing my dream, to study design in Europe.
I traversed the Atlantic ocean and began my bachelor degree in Saint-Etienne, France.
Being abroad is a challenge, not always easy, but full of love and joy. In Saint-Etienne, the Art and Design school (ESADSE) offered me the opportunity to graduate as a Space Designer. My bachelor graduation project was a statement on the link between design and socio-political issues. In fact I believe that we live in a world in crisis and that society needs to shift so I decided to apply for a master's degree that allows me to think about social change.
I grew my ambitions and applied for the Geo-Design Master Department at Design Academy Eindhoven, in the Netherlands, one of the most renowned design schools worldwide and was happy to learn that I had been accepted !
Unfortunately not every non-European student can afford this school. Being Ecuadorian means that the academy tuition fee costs 15 000 euros per year, about seven times higher than it is for an European student. This is way too expensive for me and I thought many times to drop the idea of finishing my studies, but I kept believing in it. I managed to pay for the first year, from both a loan and a one year scholarship I benefited from the Dutch government.
For the second year, my graduation year, there is no other scholarship I can benefit from, and my Financial resources are exhausted. I don't have any backup plan. I have put so much effort to arrive here and there's only one year left. I‘m able to finance my living costs but not the 15 000 euros tuition fee.

I am grateful to have been able to count on my mothers support the previous years, which covered part of my living expenses. She has a small store in Quito where she sells shoes, toys, gifts and plastic bags. It is her only financial income and two years ago the store became no longer profitable. This means she will soon not be able to continue supporting me.

Knowing that my friends and classmates wanted to help me to find financial support, we started looking into solutions. We gathered as a team and organized this crowdfunding initiative. I was touched to see how much friends care. This effort would not be possible without them, and I want to thank them all.
We believe that through solidarity and collective action, everything is possible.
We are therefore asking for your financial support.
Any amount, whether big or small, counts.
We cannot do this without you.
