Fund - TIME IS A THIEF
Donation protected
Hello! My name is Melissa and I'm a senior studying film at Cal Poly Humboldt. This semester I've been selected by my classmates to direct and write a Film project that I started over the summer.
Synopsis
In Time Is a Thief, a woman in her late 20s faces an existential crisis during a deeply unsettling therapy session. As she sits in the therapist’s office, her anxiety manifests in a frantic and desperate outpouring of thoughts. She expresses a profound sense of disconnection, feeling that time is stealthily erasing her identity and leaving her lost in a world where she can't seem to find her place.
As the session unfolds, her sense of reality begins to dissolve. The film navigates through a series of striking, euphoric scenes that blur the lines between what is genuine and what is imagined. These sequences capture her internal chaos and shifting perceptions, creating a visceral experience of her mental state. The woman embarks on a poignant journey to reclaim her sense of self amidst this overwhelming uncertainty. Time Is a Thief poignantly explores the struggle between reality and illusion, examining how the relentless passage of time can distort our understanding of ourselves and our lives. Through its haunting and surreal narrative, the film invites viewers to ponder the essence of identity and the cost of losing it to the inexorable flow of time.
Fundraising Information
Time Is a Thief is scheduled to shoot in early-mid October and will premiere in early December. This project will be one of the biggest ones yet that I will be making with my amazing crew. But with little to no budget given to us by the school, it falls on me as the director to fund my project which will be costly. I am a full-time student with many expenses and it would be hard to fully fund this project.
Donations will be put towards:
- Meals for cast and crew
- Costumes/Props
- Film Festival application fees
- Set expenses
I am grateful for all of the donations that I receive, no matter how big or small. Thank you for helping us make this possible.
