Please help support the brave efforts of our colleagues
A group of Black professional theater-makers in the Bay Area have come together to hold Marin Theater Company accountable for their production of Thomas & Sally and the ways in which it sexualizes a master-slave relationship and perpetuates rape culture. These formidable women have taken time away from their busy professional lives, and potentially put their own careers in jeopardy, to speak truth to power and advocate for better representation for their community on stage. You can read (and sign) their letter to MTC here .
We believe they shouldn't have to do this labor without compensation and want to show our support for their courage and amplify their voices.
Half of all donated funds will be given to MISSEY an Oakland organization working with young survivors of sex trafficking. The remainder of the funds will pay for direct expenses of the public convening the group is planning and will also help compensate them for their time.
