Fund the short film 'Cull'

Donation protected
Who are we?
Hi, we are trying to fund our new 2-part live-action short film with the working name of '</Cull>' directed by Alex Beije and Milo Smith . This will be for our college final major project and we want to make it our best project yet following our last short film The Secret Underground Mouse Cult .

What is the film about?
The film is set in a city of the future designed to be the world's first eco-friendly, carbon-negative city. However, due to the greed of the rich and the unsustainable growth of the world's population, the city has become dirty and polluted. We follow the story of Richard, a computer science lecturer at a public college who has a secret side hustle in robotics.

When Richard's only investor turns out to be malicious in their use of his technology, he is thrown into the dystopian reality of the government's tactics on dealing with overpopulation.

This film is currently in the early stages of development but we will give you updates on the film's progress as we go, with the film already set to premiere in the Sundial Theatre, Cirencester UK on the 18th May 2023.

How will the funds be used?
A lot of the Budget will be funded through our own pockets however we need your help! Production costs a lot of money!

Here is where your money will go:

  • 45% Art Department - The art department will play a huge factor in the creation of this production with multiple sets including miniatures and a full-scale room set. The art department will play a massive part in selling the look and feel of the world we want to create from props to the small little details on set.
  • 45% Camera and Lighting - A large proportion of the budget will be used on camera and lighting. Even though the production is set to be shot on the Blackmagic PCC4K, the looks of the film is heavily dependent on lighting. Not only that but since we aim to use miniatures for VFX shots we require a custom motion control camera rig to repeat camera movements.
  • 10% Hospitality & Logistics - Filmmaking is hard work and often takes a lot of long hours so it's important that our cast and crew are looked after with food, water, and other basic necessities. We will also be working with multiple locations so it is essential that we have logistics in place to support the movement of cast, crew, and equipment.

DONOR REWARDS:

The top donor will be invited to our college showcase where our project will premiere in the Sundial Theater, Cirencester UK on the 18th of May 2023.
