My name is Bobby C. Owen. I am the Founder Steward of Stewardship Compute LLC — a mission-locked company building toward a public-benefit governance structure where control of the mission is never for sale. Our work: Node Zero, a submerged ecological-compute campus concept for a flooded limestone quarry connected to Kentucky Lake in western Kentucky.

WHAT IS STEWARDSHIP COMPUTE?

The idea: submerged compute hardware generates heat. Water-cooling only makes sense if it uses less energy than the alternative — and if it's engineered to do no harm to the water it touches. That's the standard we're building and testing to first. Whether the system can go beyond doing no harm to actively supporting the ecosystem around it is the open question our science is designed to answer — not a promise we make in advance.

The compute is designed to fund the research. The research is the path to real ecological repair, earned by data, not assumed.

WHERE ARE WE NOW?

Our lead candidate site is the Pisgah Bay Rock Quarry on Kentucky Lake, inside Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area — still under active evaluation, not yet secured. We're in ongoing scientific collaboration with Dr. Michael Flinn and the Hancock Biological Station at Murray State University, one of Kentucky's leading aquatic research programs, to design the first controlled test. We have provisional patents filed protecting the core system. We've written a governance framework designed to keep this mission from ever being sold, corrupted, or redirected toward extractive ends — and formally locking that into our legal structure is part of what this campaign funds.

What we need is funding to run that first controlled scientific test — a pond pilot with real instrumentation, real methodology, and real data — that proves our cooling-and-circulation approach can operate safely in a living aquatic environment.

WHAT DOES YOUR MONEY DO?

Every dollar at our $50,000 goal has a specific job. Nothing is overhead. Nothing is abstract. This is science funding with a receipt.

TIER 1 — $5,000 | Lock the Foundation
Before a single sensor goes in the water, the mission has to be legally protected. This tier covers initial IP filings, governance formalization, and legal protections — the groundwork that keeps the core system from ever being sold, corrupted, or extracted.

TIER 2 — $25,000 | Light the Pilot
Funds the Phase 0.5 Pond Testbed lean configuration — 10 to 12 weeks of controlled micro-pilot science. Real sensors, real data, real methodology, developed in collaboration with Murray State's Hancock Biological Station. This is the first controlled test of whether our cooling-and-circulation approach can operate in a real pond without harming it.

TIER 3 — $50,000 | Prove the Science (FULL GOAL)
Funds the complete Phase 0.5 Standard Run plus legal protections. 12 to 16 weeks. Full sensor array. Three site trips. MSU student and technician support. Optional lab analysis. Deliverables include a BACI dataset, effect-size analysis, and a technical report suitable for agency review and grant reporting — the data package that determines every next step.

THE LONG ARC

Tier 3 is the real goal of this campaign — it funds the science that tells us whether this works. Everything past it is a multi-year, multi-phase build: permitting and agency review, the physical infrastructure a remote site needs, and — only if the science and the permits clear — the first compute installation and the long-term campus that follows. None of it happens without Tier 3 first. We're not asking you to fund a guess at what year six looks like. We're asking you to fund the test that tells us if there should be a year two.

WHY DOES GOVERNANCE MATTER?

We've written Stewardship Compute's mission protections into a governance framework built so that no investor, partner, government entity, or future founder can ever acquire controlling ownership, sell the core IP, or redirect this system toward extractive ends. That framework exists today; formally locking it into our legal structure is one of the things the first tier of this campaign funds.

We intend to be a footnote in the history of what we're building. The mission outlasts us.

Stability Through Stewardship.
