My mom (Helen) had the wonderful idea to support my friend with a funding effort to go towards a new (aka replacement) car. She wrote:
'A few months ago, my daughter’s long-time friend, Inaya, made the difficult decision to take a break from med school. Knowing finances are tight for students, we invited her to stay with us, until she returns to San Diego in the spring—a way to honor the generosity others have shown us in the past.
All has been well until last week. We discovered Friday morning that her car was stolen during the night—from in front of our home. The insurance on her vehicle doesn’t cover theft so she must find the money to buy a replacement. This is not something we do normally, but there are times when our heart nudges us to step out of our comfort zone; so, we are reaching out to the amazing souls in our orbit hoping you are willing to help her on this quest. If you feel moved to do so, we thank you for your kindness. Happy Holidays, everyone!'
P.S. If you're looking for a holiday gift other than a donation, other personal items and most of her camping gear were in the car when it was stolen. See the photo memories of the adventures had with the car and camping gear. :')
