Fund the Innowalk Pro at Bedelsford Special School
Donation protected
On the 12th May 2024, members of the therapy team at Bedelsford School will be running the Hampton Court 10k to raise funds for the Innowalk Pro.
Our children at Bedelsford have some of the most complex needs of any School locally. So much so that 9 different boroughs in London and Surrey send their children here due to the expertise of the staff and school facilities.
All children should have an hour of physical activity per day. Children with complex needs rarely have the opportunity to achieve this due to the lack of equipment that can fully support their movement. The Innowalk is an amazing machine that can keep their bodies moving and healthy, regardless of their physical abilities.
The large Innowalk Pro costs £46,000, so across a range of fundraising events, that is our end goal. It will be fully adjustable so all our secondary kids can use it regardless of height or weight.
Scientific evidence has shown that the Innowalk encourages normal bone growth (a lot of children with cerebral palsy need hip surgery and evidence suggests that the Innowalk prevents this). It also really helps with high tone, cardiac health, gastrointestinal health and makes them stronger, happier, more regulated and ready to learn!
