My name is Mireya Garcia—a Chicana storyteller, youth organizer, poet, and community organizer from Ventura, California. I’m creating Tesoros, a short documentary that honors the untold stories of Chicana women today—our roots, resilience, and the cultural wisdom passed down through generations.

This film isn’t just for us—it’s for anyone who believes that every community deserves to see themselves reflected, celebrated, and remembered. Tesoros is a love letter to our lineage, a reclamation of our stories, and a living archive for future generations. Through the lens of identity, migration, and ancestral memory, we’ll explore how Chicana women carry both the weight and beauty of their heritage—and what that means in today’s world.
