Fund Teri's Urgent Eye Surgery

My name is Etalia and Teri (aka Princess Teriyaki) has been my dog for 10 years, which makes her around 11 years old. She almost died of Distemper right after she came to Seattle from Texas, where she was found on the street by a coworker of mine. Since surviving that intense and very deadly illness, she has lived a very happy life, first for a few months in Seattle and then here in Bellingham. She's the first dog I've ever had and I love her to pieces.
Unfortunately, she now faces another medical crisis. Three weeks ago she woke up blind and in pain. The blindness is from progressive glaucoma and the pain from that high pressure in her eyes is what is making it necessary for her to have surgery to have her eyes removed. Medication has helped over the past few weeks, reducing the inflammation and pain, but today's visit to the vet showed that her eye pressure is increasing and causing another bout of high pain. I never thought I'd ever need to say, "my dog needs to have her eyeballs removed", but that is our reality right now.
Teri is a miracle dog and she is so loved, by me and by my husband and our daughter. Teri is a healthy 8lb Pekingnese Chihuahua little gremlin dog and she has already lived 10 years longer than she was supposed to, after making it through Distemper. She is blind now, but she can still have a happy life for, hopefully, many years to come. The surgery is necessary to stop her pain and I want that for her more than anything. Surgery is scheduled for 9am tomorrow morning (May 10th) and she'll come home later that afternoon. Recovery is quick and the vet assured me that she should be feeling better than she has in a while within 48 hours, which sounds amazing.
The surgery is expensive, around $2200 is the estimate I was given by my vet's office. I'm rounding up to $2500 for this fundraising effort, because I know there will be the expenses of follow up appointments to get stitches removed, etc and I want to plan for that. We need help covering this expense because that's a large chunk of money for us. We have already spent over $600 on her vet bills last month (emergency hospital visit, multiple check ups, medication, blood tests, etc) and the cost of this surgery will eat up a very big part of our income this month. We appreciate any support our community can lend us, especially Teri. Thank you so much!
