Hello, my name is Kristen Hodges, and I’m raising funds to help my 15-year-old son, Teagan, attend the National Youth Leadership Forum at Yale University this summer, with a focus on Business Innovation.

Teagan was invited to attend this prestigious 9-day program after being recognized for his academic ability and leadership potential. When he opened the letter, the look on his face said everything — excitement, pride, and a belief that big dreams might actually be possible.

Teagan is one of the most intelligent, curious, and driven young people I know. He asks thoughtful questions, thinks creatively, and already shows a strong interest in how ideas turn into real-world solutions. This program would give him exposure to college-level learning, leadership development, and mentorship — experiences that can truly shape a young person’s future.

Teagan lives with his father, younger sister and bonus mom, and he also spends much of his time with me, his step father and his four siblings on my side of the family. We are a blended family who works closely together for the benefit of Teagan and all of his siblings — because when one child succeeds, it lifts everyone.

The total cost for tuition, housing, meals, and program materials is $5,000, and the tuition must be paid in full by February.

While we are doing everything we can as a family, this opportunity is simply beyond what we can manage alone. Still, we cannot imagine telling him, “You can’t go,” after he has been chosen for something so meaningful.

That’s why we’re asking for help.
