Dear community,
It’s not easy to ask for help, but I believe in the power of collective care and community healing.
I’m in the process of pursuing a Graduate Program in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, where I’ll be training to become a therapist with a focus on somatic healing, grief work, and culturally responsive care. As a Black, queer woman, I’m deeply aware of the lack of therapists who look like me and understand the layered experiences of race, gender, and identity in mental health spaces—especially here in Colorado.
This fundraiser is to help cover:
- Tuition and program expenses
- My transition into The People’s Mansion, a Boulder Housing Coalition co-op centered on values of equity, sustainability, mutual aid, accessibility, and collective liberation.
- Resources to launch community somatic grief circles, prioritizing healing spaces for Black, brown, queer, and low-income communities in Denver and beyond.
Our communities are in urgent need of care—but we also need carers who are supported and resourced. I am answering that call.
But I can’t do this alone.
In a time when our current political regime is making it painfully clear that they do not support diversity, education, or equity—with threats to dismantle the Department of Education and DEI initiatives—it is more important than ever to invest in people and movements committed to justice and healing.
I’m asking for your support so I can continue this work, not only for myself, but for every person who’s ever needed a therapist who truly sees them.
If you believe in accessible, affirming mental health care…
If you’ve ever longed for a space to grieve and heal in community…
If you want to help build a future rooted in care, equity, and resilience…
Please donate, share, and help me make this vision possible.
With deep gratitude,
Tamika Cox
