Luxury Meets Legacy in Volo, Ghana

Hello, friends and supporters!

I am thrilled to share an exciting journey that combines culture, fashion, and sustainability. On Friday, April 18th, 2025, during the Tugbedzo-Za Festival in Volo, Volta Region, Ghana, I will be showcasing my sustainable fashion designs in the 2nd Annual Volo Fashion and Art Show. This event is a celebration of heritage, creativity, and the powerful connection between luxury, legacy, and sustainability.

This project is deeply personal. It started as an idea in 2023 that became reality in 2024. I had an opportunity to showcase my designs but more importantly we gave aspiring designers an opportunity to showcase their skills. We awarded 3 designers a cash prize. This year the fashion show honors my cousin, Torgbe Volo Yingor 1st, the Economic Development Chief of Volo, and will also feature one of my sewing students, who is Torgbe’s cousin on his father’s side. Together, we aim to represent the incredible talent and artistry that unite the US with Volo and its people.

Why I Need Your Help

To make this vision a reality, I need your support to cover the following:

• Airfare: Traveling to Ghana to represent sustainable fashion on a global stage.

• Lodging & Food: Ensuring I have a safe and comfortable stay during the event.

• Materials & Supplies: Creating and showcasing high-quality, handmade sustainable fashion and accessories.

• Content Creation: I’ll be capturing interviews and behind-the-scenes footage to produce a documentary and short-form content for TV and social media, sharing the story of Volo, its culture, and the impact of sustainable fashion.
