About Me
My name is Senija Mehmedovic, and I’m a survivor of the 1995 Srebrenica Genocide. I was a child when my family fled, escaping the horrors that took the lives of more than 8,000 Bosniak men and boys, including members of my own.
I now share my story to honor the past and ensure it’s never forgotten.
Why I’m Fundraising
I’ve been invited to attend the 30th Anniversary Commemoration of the Srebrenica Genocide at the United Nations Headquarters in New York City on July 7–8, 2025.
As a survivor, being present holds deep meaning, but the travel costs from Grand Rapids, MI (including flights, hotel, and meals) are beyond my means. After exhausting all other funding options, I created this campaign to ask for your help.
Your support—through a donation or by sharing—means everything. Thank you for standing with me in remembrance.
