This is for my 16-year-old son who was hit by an unlicensed, uninsured woman, high on meth as he was coming home from work at night on his bike. He has smashed his pelvis, both knees, both wrists, both collarbones, ribs have punctured both lungs, left forearm broke in 2 places, left hand has multiple broken bones, left shoulder lacerated to the bone, jaw fractured in 2 places and lost teeth, he’s also had his intestine resectioned. He needs many more surgeries to pin and plate all the breaks and repair the ligaments in his knees.
Sean will need extensive in-house therapy to recover function. Sean has medical insurance but it will only cover a small portion of his needs in the upcoming year. He will be starting his senior year of high school when school resumes, but is likely to have medical restrictions if he’s well enough to attend.
My goal is to raise enough to cover the insurance shortfalls, to pay for the best possible in-house therapy I can find, and to provide for any special needs he may end up having.
Sean is an athletic young man who enjoyed martial arts, competed at Highland Games, worked a part-time job and had recently started his own car detailing business. All this has now been taken from him by the irresponsible actions of a 63-year-old woman high on meth, license revoked and no insurance. She’s in jail currently but none of that helps Sean.
