My name is Helen and I am the very proud Aunty of Jordan who we sadly lost nearly 10 years ago to a heart attack. I am doing a triathlon on Sunday 14th September to raise money for Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY) and here is the reason why......
Jordan was fit and well and had his whole life ahead to fulfil the big dreams he had until a fatal underlying heart condition took it all away.
Since Jords death our family have put their heart and soul into fundraising in his memory to pay for screening days for underlying heart conditions which may otherwise not be detected. These days cost £6000 every time to screen 100 14-35 year olds.
Our aim is to continue to fund anybody that would like to be screened in Jordans memory. His life was precious and the only way to comprehend what happened to him is to help save other lives.
Since starting to screen people there have been a number of referrals to a specialist at the hospital; even resulting in one young girl having an internal pacemaker fitted.
It's 10 years in October since Jordan took his last breath and I hope you will support me on my fundraising mission to continue to screen young people in the hope that their families never have to go through what we have.
To confirm Jordan has a registered charity and here is the link to his page....you can donate directly to it or via this page and the money will be sent directly to his fund and invoices shown.
Thanks
Helen
