Help Close the AI Gender Gap: Fund Scholarships for Women to Join AI Foundations for Women
The AI revolution is here. Women risk being left behind.
Despite decades of progress, women are falling behind in AI adoption—and the consequences are staggering.
- Women are 22% less likely than men to use generative AI tools (Harvard Business School).
- Only 20% of AI and data science roles worldwide are held by women.
- Just 31% of AI course enrollments come from women (Coursera).
This gap isn’t about talent—it’s about access, trust, and opportunity. And if we don’t act now, it will widen gender gaps in pay, leadership, and innovation all over again.
Why This Matters Now
AI isn’t optional—it’s reshaping work, careers, and everyday life. Early adopters are gaining promotions, freeing up time, and driving innovation. If women aren’t equally empowered to use and shape AI, the future of work will be built without their voices, perspectives, or leadership.
“We can’t afford to let AI become another barrier to women’s advancement. This event is about giving women the confidence and tools to lead in this new era of work.”
— Miri Rodriguez, CEO of Empressa
What We’re Doing
On November 7, 2025, Empressa and The WIT Network , in collaboration with The Geena Davis Institute are hosting AI Foundations for Women —a global, virtual learning experience designed for women, not just around them.
This live, facilitator-led, woman-centric event provides:
- Hands-on AI labs (no code required)
- Real-world use cases in education, healthcare, marketing, and creative fields
- Sessions on ethical AI, privacy, and responsible use
- Mentorship and an ongoing women-in-AI community
- Flexible, accessible format for women everywhere
Our goal: 2,500 women certified in AI across the globe
Why Women Don’t Enroll Without Support
Confidence Gaps: Many women underestimate their readiness for AI—even at the foundational level. They often doubt their ability to keep up, despite having the skills and potential to thrive.
Time Constraints: Caregiving and work make traditional training formats inaccessible.
Financial Barriers: In many parts of the world, the cost of AI courses is simply out of reach—especially for women already facing pay inequities.
Representation: When women don’t see themselves in AI, they don’t see a place for themselves in its future.
Scholarships break these barriers—unlocking confidence, access, and opportunity worldwide.
What’s at Stake
If we don’t act:
- Careers stall, pay gaps widen, and leadership seats remain out of reach.
- AI products continue to embed harmful bias—because women weren’t at the table.
- The economy loses billions in growth from sidelined talent.
But if we do act:
- Women step into AI with confidence.
- We shape a more inclusive, ethical AI future.
- We rewrite the future of work—together.
