Fund Safe Housing For Black Queer Couple

Peace Yall,
We are two Black queer low income artist, coming from toxic households, who are looking to start a new chapter together. We are full-time college students who are in need of assistance for rent, food and furniture as school takes up all of our time, limiting our ability to work and save. We attend Howard University, I (Destiny) am a sociology major from Chicago, IL with the hopes to continue work in grassroots organizing and my partner (Shea) is a Biology major on a pre med track aspiring to become a Critical Care Anesthesiologist. We are hoping to move into the DC metropolitan area as that is where our university is located.
We have already begun our search and rent estimates are around $1500 for a one bedroom apartment. We are hoping to secure at least 6 months of rent. As a small business owner Covid-19 has effected my output, however I am managing to put aside savings from that as well as my partners commissions.
