A dear friend of mine, Ron Pfisterer, recently lost his older brother, Roy Spathelf, to lung cancer. Roy was only 59 years old.

Ron is heartbroken by the loss of his only brother. As his closest living relative, he is doing everything he can to settle Roy's affairs with limited resources.

Roy passed away at El Camino Hospital, and a GoFundMe campaign has been established to raise $2,250 needed for the Neptune Society to retrieve his body from the hospital morgue and perform a simple cremation, with the ashes returned to the family. Any remaining funds will be used to settle Roy's outstanding bills.

Roy was single, never married, and had no children. Due to a series of health issues, he had to stop working a few years ago. His only source of income was $1,200 per month from Social Security Disability, supplemented by food stamps. He had no savings, leaving very little to finalize his affairs.
