Help Fund Roof Repair and Tree Removal

Hi, my name is Marcel and I'm fundraising to help with roof repair and to remove the old tree in front of my home.

On Thursday the 31st of August a limb from the tree in front of my home fell and damaged the roof. This is the second time in two years that large limbs have fallen off this tree.

The first time this occurred last year, two huge branches fell on the sidewalk close to the street. It was fortunate that no one was hurt and no vehicles were damaged during that incident. The picture below is from last year.

My house is nearly 100 years old and the tree is probably just as old. Although it is magnificent, for the sake of safety this tree no longer belongs in my front yard... especially because of it's close proximity to both the house and the street. With the climate conditions we have been experiencing, pine trees may not be suited down here in the valley much longer.

I have spent the last couple of weeks getting quotes and estimates. Except for the $1000 deductible, homeowners insurance will pay for roof repair. Unfortunately, insurance companies are not in the business of preventative care and the cost to take care of the tree falls on me. Due to the lockdown and a serious health event a couple of years ago, my earning power has been severely impacted which is why I am reaching out.

I've decided to leave this fundraiser up for a couple of weeks. If the goal is met by then, I will make arrangements for the tree to be removed. If only part of the goal is achieved I will at least arrange for a good trim of the tree.
