Hello! My name is River Martinez and I am a 29 year old transgender man that is trying to raise money for top surgery!

My first insurance in my previous job denied my request to cover most of the cost, my second job insurance does not cover gender affirming surgeries. I will be attempting to have the majority of the cost covered by my new job's insurance. I have been out as transgender for 7 years now and have been on Testosterone for 5 years. I do trans advocacy work in my community and love being visibly trans.

I do struggle with major dysphoria when it comes to my chest (and other parts of my body). I use exercise tape to tape down my chest every time I leave the house (even if it's to the grocery store). If I go to the beach or a pool, I have to wear a shirt or pay attention to who is around because people might say something to me even if my chest is taped. When I go to the gym I have to change in a stall for my own safety and insecurity. It's a daily struggle. Taping is immensley restricting, and the adhesive often is painful to remove even with oil. I'm almost 30, I don't want to deal with this anymore.
