Hi there! Perri here, a.k.a. MaBear. I will do anything for my kids...that includes doing something that is very uncomfortable and unconventional. Sharing our personal business is not at the top of my list of things I like to do, but I will do anything for my kids.

Our beautiful, smart and quiet daughter Riley has some amazing opportunities presented to her. Riley's awesome Charter school, Ocean Studies has some unbelievable trips offered to their students. We need your help to fund these awesome adventures.

Our financial situation is not the same as it was just a few months back. I, Perri, was laid off from my well-paid position. Although I did get another job rather quickly, the money is just not the same and I don't expect my income to increase for a few more months, when our "busy season" returns. Tom and I are both working fulltime and providing for all of our other necessities in life. I have applied for additional employment to supplement some of the lost income but with no results as of yet. It is this little bit of extra funds that we don't have right now. So, we humbly ask for assistance. We have made the initial deposit to secure Riley a spot on the trip. Funds are required in the coming weeks to make the payments. I want her to experience things I can only dream of doing. What a great opportunity this is for our Riley!!

As a mother, I want to do anything and everything for my children. Please help us, in any way you can, $5, $10, $20, or if you can't help financially, just sharing this fundraiser to your family and friends is a major supportive action. Every little gesture is greatly appreciated!

Also, if there happens to be any moneys collected over our goal, we will be donating that to other students at Ocean Studies. OSCS has a scholarship program and Riley and I will be doing some local fundraising with other students to help in any way we can. This is something we feel strongly about being a part of. Riley's school is offering her class 2 big trips.

First one is for a local overnight sailing experience (2 nights). Cost per student $425

Second trip is 4 nights to Belize!! Cost per student $1700

Riley's passport is expired so we need to get it renewed. Cost is about $200

Traveling internationally gives students the opportunity to compare what they have learned to other parts of the world. On our trips, they meet with scientists while also exploring unique cultures ad natural coastlines." OSCS Teacher
