Fund Rei's Healing Journey to Japan

Rei is 33 years old and originally from Japan. She gave birth to her second daughter in Nov 2023 in Philadelphia. She celebrated her third Mother’s Day on May 12 and her five-year wedding anniversary with her husband Mike on May 30.

Sadly, on May 22, Rei underwent a full left mastectomy after being diagnosed with breast cancer in late-April.

While we’re hopeful the disease hasn’t spread to her lymph nodes or beyond, her genetic screen indicates hereditary breast and ovarian cancer syndrome. As a high-risk patient, this means that Rei will likely endure additional surgeries in the months and years ahead, on top of biannual cancer screenings.

Mike and Rei are hoping to head to Japan with their girls (Keely, 2 & Ashley, 6 mo) as soon as Rei feels strong enough to travel, to spend time with their Japanese family and continue treatment.

As shocking as this has all been for them, Mike and Rei are staying strong and steady as they tread this unsteady water together. They are hopeful that it was caught at an early stage, but are aware that the road ahead is unknown. Rei is strong, brave and ready for all to come, and Mike and the girls are right there by her side to support her.
