Fund Raising to Help Our Student

Thanks to all kind-hearted donors, we have managed to raise £15,000 from various sources! There is no need for further donation now. Thank you very much!

Ms Chen, a student at the University of Southampton, lost all her money intended for her tuition and living costs in November 2021 after falling victim to a telephone scam of £30,000. Desperate to recoup her losses, she has taken on multiple part-time jobs working long hours whilst studying for her one-year Master's degree. Despite her efforts, she remains over £12,000 short of paying off her tuition fee.

Imagine your child, thousands of miles away from home, being contacted by their home country's police with the alarming news that they are under criminal investigation. Imagine the fear and confusion they must feel as they try to navigate this foreign legal system, all while trying to focus on their studies. Now imagine that fear turning to desperation as they are scammed out of their tuition and maintenance fees, leaving them owing money to friends and struggling to make ends meet. This is the reality for our Southampton student, Ms Chen, who bravely came forward to the BBC to warn others of this heart-wrenching scam in January 2022.

Ms Chen's dream of finishing her education and obtaining her university certificate is now hanging in the balance as her visa expires on 30/1/2023. Her future hangs on the line, and we can't stand idly by and watch it slip away. CAS has set up this GoFundMe page to help her fundraise for her outstanding fees. We are reaching out to you today, pleading for your help in ensuring Ms Chen gets the chance to fulfill her dreams and obtain her university certificate.
