Fund Raising for Pam Athey Carter's Care

Hello my name is Ed and I've started this GoFundMe campaign to raise funds to help support my dearest friend Pam Athey Carter and her struggle with Alzheimer’s.

My goal is to raise $40,000 to help with Pam’s home health care and then get moved into a Memory Care facility that can give her the care she needs.

Pam has been my best friend for the last 10 years and we have shared so many memorable experiences together. From the beginning, we made it a priority to explore new things and places and to experience this amazing journey we call life while we could. We have been so amazingly blessed to have had such a rich and rewarding time together.

Over the last 3 years it was becoming evident that Pam was slowing down and then in late 2021 she was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. In the last 9 months it has rapidly progressed to where she really struggles with the simplest of things, can no longer remember much, and hasn’t been able take care of herself. I’ve had the privilege of taking care of her myself these last few years, but now she needs full-time professional care both here at home and then as soon as possible at a Memory Care Facility where she can interaction with others, get good meals and join in meaningful daily activities. I have been working on getting her into memory care over the last 3 months, and I’m waiting for her to qualify and get placed in a facility, and that process can take at least 6-9 months time.
