Help Raise Funds for Children in Need


Background Info
There are over 320,000 homeless children in Nepal. Each year hundreds of children in the rural
villages are discarded by their own families, due to extreme poverty. 34% of Nepalese children
are involved in some form of child labour ranging from agricultural work to commercial sexual
exploitation. We are seeing an alarming rise in street children, begging for food on the streets of
Kathmandu or being trafficked as sex workers across the borders into Indian brothels.



Who Are We?
We are Nepal’s first eco-friendly home, located 90 minutes from Kathmandu in the village of
Panauti and home to 31 orphaned and discarded children, where we provide a safe haven for
children in a warm and nurturing environment.
The care of the children is entrusted in the hands of our loving matron, a cook, two caregivers
and a farm hand who also acts as our gardener and security guard.



What We Do
At the Eco Farm and Orphanage, we provide the children with the best care possible, including
education, healthy organic food that we grow on our farm, medical and dental care, sports and
extra-curricular activities, and most importantly, a place they can call home.
We place a large focus on the physical and mental health and development of the children by
ensuring they are exposed to different sports and activities. Our children enjoy playing
basketball, football, badminton, and table tennis. The younger one’s love playing in the jungle
gym, whilst the girls love our dance and music classes. We encourage the children to read by
providing them with a small library of books donated by our sponsors.

All children stay with us until they finish high school and move on to higher education. To date,
six of our children have completed their studies and are pursuing higher education with the help
of our generous sponsors.

How Can You Help?
We are in dire need of funds to pay for the following:
o The children’s school including books, stationary, and uniforms.
o Salaries for the caretakers of the children.
o Maintenance and repair to electric, plumbing, and water filtration plant.
