Fund raising for Pastor Mrs Caroline Chesire

Please raise funds for our mother’s hospital bill and funeral expenses

Caroline Matia Kiptek-Chesire was diagnosed with two brain tumours in early February 2021. She underwent emergency surgery on Friday 12th February at the Tophill Hospital in Eldoret, Kenya. During surgery, the surgeon found that the main blood artery had encased the tumours, measuring at 5x10cm and 3x3cm, making it difficult to separate. 

After a long and delicate four-hour surgery, the tumours were successfully removed, and mum was moved to HDU for recovery. However, over a few hours, she was still unresponsive. Her blood pressure was also low as the artery that encased the tumour was flaccid and unable to pump blood to her brain. With the swelling on her head, a second CT scan showed that she had developed a blood clot and was then returned to theatre for a two hour procedure to manage the bleeding, and thereafter taken to ICU for close monitoring.

On Monday 15th afternoon, we were informed that mum had developed a stroke post-surgery and that the doctors could not do anything more to sustain her without the machines. After the family consulted,  her life support was switched off and mum rested peacefully at 5am on Tuesday 16th. 

The medical bill is about KSh 1 million (just under £10,000) and we have been able to pay most of it. We would like to appeal to our friends and well-wishers to support us offset the hospital bill and give her a dignified burial. I am now in Kenya for the funeral which is scheduled for Tuesday 23rd February 2021 in Kabarnet, Baringo County. Any support towards mum's medical bill and funeral expenses would be greatly appreciated.
