Fund Preston's Journey to Clear Vision

Hello, My name is Boykin Powers, I am raising funds for Preston Johnson. This is important to me because Preston is an assistant golf professional for me at The Muni, he is a great person and does a great job, working hard to make The Muni a great place. Preston has had a very busy few years, filled with ups and some very unlucky downs. Preston and his wife Cara just recently celebrated the first birthday of their son, Bennett. Bennett is a cute, healthy baby and is a precious gift to the Johnson Family, although those first few years of becoming a parent we all know can be tough; the lack of sleep, the lack of privacy, putting yourself second to that new baby, for the next century.
Learning how to become a great parent has not been Preston or the Johnson Family's biggest struggle lately, in December of 2022, Preston woke up with pain in one of his eyes, his dominant eye actually. Turns out Preston got a mold in his eye through a cut, he is not sure when it actually happened, just that night the pain started. Turns out his mold is not native to this area either and it had eye doctors stumped for months. During these months of office visits, 2-3 times a month, they would cut and poke at his eye. often times have the wound heal before the mold was killed and having to recut the eye open. I know, way too much Info. This was very painful every day for Preston for many months. He has been putting eye drops in his eyes several times a day. I know that if i had an eye injury this severe, which effected my sleep, you would not have wanted to be around me as I would had been a miserable person. Preston has handled this eye injury as best as i could imagine. Car had to drive him to work for 6-8 months because he could see out of his other eye very well to drive, being the non dominant eye. His left eye got stronger and he was eventually able to drive, but he hasn't has vision from the right eye in a long time. Preston took time off when needed, but as I started off, he is a great asset to The Muni golf course, even with his injury. Don't forgot baby Bennett came along a year ago and made things even more interesting, and of course the emergency appendectomy. So, like I said before, many ups and downs the last couple years. As Preston's eye has healed, he is now ready to get corneal transplant surgery to help restore his vision and get this injury behind him. Preston had a successful transplant May 7 and is now recovering for a couple weeks. Preston has health and eye insurance, but he still has had to pay a couple hundred dollars a month out of pocket for special eye drops, and very frequent office visits. He surgery is very expensive, thank goodness for health insurance, but his out of pocket is still a little over $5000. It is not a ton of money and his life is not in danger, but to a very young couple, this is not an easy expense. The funds from the gofundme go toward this bill. The people who know Preston, I know will help out considering what he has been through and the type of person Preston is. For those who don't know Preston, he is an outstanding golf professional and a tremendous help to me every day. I want to be able to help him get through this without worrying about that hospital bill. So I have created this gofundme for him, because he is a great person and I want to show him he is appreciated.
