Fund Pre Hernia And CAWR Surgery Mounjaro Injections

Hi my name is Abbi and I’m looking for help to try and fund monthly Mounjaro injections to lose 3 stone in 40 weeks before surgery otherwise the surgeon will not operate.

Back in early 2023 I fell pregnant with my beautiful baby boy, unfortunately it was not an easy pregnancy. He was a very big boy and came out at 10lb 14oz, during the later stages of my pregnancy and after becoming so large to the point people thought I was carrying twins or triplets I ended up with an umbilical hernia and severe Diastisis Recti (splitting of the stomach muscles).

Before and during up to a point in pregnancy I was very fit and healthy. I worked as a lifeguard and weighed around 9.5 stone. After giving birth I was left with a bulging belly that never went down. It took me months to finally get this investigated and further time still to be referred, have tests and examinations carried out to determine the severity of the damage. I was told when having an ultrasound that I have an umbilical hernia and severe diastisis recti which is the splitting of stomach muscles. During my ultrasound it was revealed that the split was at least 7cm but the physician could not measure any further because the tool he was using was simply not big enough.

I was then referred for physio which sadly did not work for me and then to a surgeon who then referred me to a more specialist surgeon who could deal with a more complicated surgery. The surgery I am waiting to have is hernia/ Complicated Abdominal Wall Reconstruction Surgery however the surgeon will not perform the surgery until I have lost 3 stone as the risks are too high at my current weight. I now currently weigh 14.10 stone as of 14/06/25.

The hernia and diastisis recti has made it difficult to exercise like I used to and is more painful for me and has caused my fitness to decline and my weight to rise. I want to be able to lose the weight within the 40 week time frame so that I can finally be accepted for my surgery and begin to live my life again. I want to be the best mum I can for my boy and join in with all the activities that most mum's are able to. I want to be able to go outside feeling confident and not ashamed of the way I look and fear that people are looking at me as though I am still pregnant because of my bulge. I want to have a healthier better quality of life and live my life without this weighing on my shoulders.

I am asking for donations to help fund the Mounjaro injections because as of current I am unable to be accepted on the NHS because aside from my weight and BMI as I do not have the other health issues required under their eligibility criteria. I have a set time frame that I have to lose this weight under and along side a strict regime of diet and as much exercise as physically possible considering my condition, the Mounjaro injections would really improve my chances of achieving this goal and speed up the process.

I am not one to normally ask for help with these things so this is a big deal for me! Any help at all any one can give would be amazing and make such a difference to my life!
