Facing a heart valve surgery is very daunting. But we have many reasons to trust and hoped that will overcome this challenge.
Over a month ago, Pedro, an enthusiastic, loving, 47 years old man, with a dedicated service to his community through his brilliant skills and talent as a mechanic, started with a pain in his lower back. He thought it was just muscle pain. Over the course of a month, the pain got worse progressively.
On May 25th, he was taken to the emergency room. Four days later, after multiple tests and many lab studies, an infection called “endocarditis” was found in all his blood vessels which grew up aggressively. He had a surgery procedure, in multiple sites: Mitral Valve Replacement, and Left Atrial Appendage Exclusion Medial sternotomy. We have enormous gratitude to all the people who prayed for us; the surgery was a success, thanks to GOD.
Not having health insurance plays a big factor knowing that medical cost is exorbitant— I have started this Go Fund Me account to ease the burden on my brother's expenses, so he can focus on his recovery. Over the next weeks and months ahead, he will need to be at countless follow-up doctor appointments. It will take months before he could work. As you can imagine, the normal costs of everyday living such as rent, food, gas, car, etc... plus the medical costs can be astronomical.
We are taking it one day at a time and not losing hope, as brighter days are ahead.
Thank you for your support!!!
