Help Us Welcome Baby with a Safe, Joyful Home Birth

Dear friends and family,

We are overjoyed to be expecting our sweet baby at the end of January/beginning of February. This season of life has been full of challenges, growth, and blessings—and one of the most important decisions we’ve made is to welcome our baby at home with the support of our incredible midwife.

Why Home Birth?

Even with insurance, the out-of-pocket cost of a hospital birth is the same (if not more) than the cost of a home birth. But home birth offers us something priceless—peace, safety, comfort, and the freedom to bring our child into the world in our own space, surrounded by love.

Unfortunately, midwifery care isn’t covered by insurance, and families like ours must pay out of pocket.

Our Situation

Our original plan was simple: cancel our health insurance and use the $600 a month we were paying in premiums to cover midwife fees. But the specific plan through Travis’s work doesn’t allow cancellations until January 1st—a date far too close to baby’s arrival.

In the meantime, we are barely making ends meet. Between home repairs, medical bills, and the cost of everyday life, we don't know how we are going to pull together the $3,200 needed for midwife services before birth. If you’ve followed along with our journey on social media, you know the hurdles we’ve been navigating this past year.

We feel beyond blessed to have found one of the most compassionate and skilled midwives in our area. She has already been walking with us through this pregnancy, offering care that feels deeply personal, reassuring, and wise. We love her to pieces! She is worth every penny and MORE, and we cannot imagine this birth story without her!
