Fund Oprah's Urgent Medical Procedure

Thank you for reading this! I'm raising funds for an unexpected procedure my cat is needing. My cat, Oprah, is a little over 14 years old and has been my dearest friend since I adopted her nearly 12 years ago. I'm in a weird transition period in my life having somewhat recently relocated states after a tough breakup. Moving states required me to resign from my job due to residency requirements so I am currently unemployed. I have created this GoFundMe due to being in a tight financial predicament and I need help treating my cat soon.

This week our new vet found a large mass on her abdomen that is pressing against some organs. Bloodwork revealed her organs are mostly healthy but her liver and kidneys were functioning at their limits, while concerning this made the vet hopeful this mass wasn't cancerous and that her bloodwork may return to normal after the mass is removed. The vet thought the liver and kidney's results might be a result of the mass pressing against her organs since the levels weren't too extreme. My cat is 14 years old but is eating well (though less) and acts mostly normal, I understand cats can be masters at hiding pain but her behavior and energy levels, combined with the vet's optimism, are motivating me to push for a cure rather than reach for the euthanasia.

The next steps are getting an ultrasound on the mass and having a biopsy performed to determine if the mass is cancerous or not. If the mass is benign, then we will move forward with removing it, at which time I may be increasing my goal to cure my cat. If the mass is cancerous, my vet politely said they wouldn't operate on a cancerous mass that large in an older cat so I think I'd be looking at managing what remaining time we have at that point.
