I have been caring for a small community cat colony since 2019. A local rescue helped with TNR (Trap, Neuter, Release) at a neighbor's situation that had gotten out of control. Out of the 60+ cats that were trapped, went through TNR, or were adopted, only 6 were returned to our neighborhood. They were considered "unadoptable" and I volunteered to care for them.

I work an extra job on the weekends to raise the money for food, shelter upkeep, meds, etc.

In early July, I noticed Olivia was not eating and also hiding for days at a time. I was able to get close enough to see she had a wound on her hind paw. It took me almost 2 weeks to finally catch her and take her to my local vet.

Olivia had a severe wound that was infected and she had also lost almost half her body weight due to being in pain and not eating.

I have been nursing her since July 20th and she is finally showing some improvement with the foot wound healing, but to regain the lost weight will take time. She is showing signs of being comfortable indoors and I would like to try to integrate her into my home. But I have two indoor cats and Olivia will need extensive testing and updated vaccines to allow her to be near my indoor cats.

I hope to raise funds to pay for the vet to run the blood panel, fecal test, updated vaccines, clean her ears and check for infection, shave the hair mat on her chest, and run any follow-ups based on the results of the tests. She will need to be sedated too since she is not too happy with our vet. :-)

I hope you can donate. The vet gave me a rough estimate of $1200. Any leftover funds I will use towards the colony for updating shelters before this coming winter.

I have added a few extra pictures of Olivia when she was living outdoors in addition to the estimate from the vet. This estimate does not include any follow up meds or procedures that may need to be done after test results.
