Support Nia's Film Journey
Donation protected
Your dearest organizer, friend, familia, artist, and baddie, Mexican writer + director, Nia Navarro, and amazing friends are making a short narrative film titled Amor Eterno. This film is a story about grief, siblinghood, family and the eternal love of ancestors carried out through dreams. Based on real life events.
The film tells the story of grief experienced by a sister who suddenly lost her brother. We hope this film resonates with people who carry deep grief and it holds a space for everyone to feel, cry, and embrace our hearts.
Amor Eterno reflects Nia's own story with grief after losing her brother in 2020.
This film brings together a magical team of Mexican and Latine immigrant queer baddies. Your donation is an investment in our creative community and an opportunity to support the immigrant Mexican community and filmmakers in Minnesota.
Where are the funds going?
Amor Eterno received $8000 of starter funds and support from Mamá Papaya, an organization dedicated to nurture and cultivate QTBIPOC filmmakers.
We need $5000 to finish the film which covers the editing (editor, sound, music...) and funds still owed to our beautiful production team.
Nia is not eligible for the Minnesota state arts funds because of their residency status.
We will still need funds for sending the film to film festivals and increase the payment stipends for our crew.
