Fund Naomi's Journey at John Brown University

Dear Donors,

I am Naomi Sharma from Bangladesh. I am currently a freshman at John Brown University, majoring in Artificial Intelligence and Computer Science. I came here to the university with the help of a missionary family in Oklahoma that my father served in Bangladesh. My father, although retired now served a lot of missionaries as he worked for the Association of Baptist Organization in Bangladesh for more than 36 years. The family decided to help me out with John Brown University and got me enrolled at JBU, but they are unable to pay for my education leaving me to find ways to support my education.

With faith, I traveled from Bangladesh to the United States in hopes of studying hard and making my family proud, despite the political challenges and uncertainty in Bangladesh. Since arriving on August 26th, I’ve faced many challenges, but I’m encouraged by the words of Philippians 4:13: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” This verse reminds me that no challenge is too big with God by my side, and I believe He has brought me this far for a reason.

Despite my best efforts, I am still facing a significant financial hurdle. Through the generosity of teachers from my high school back home, I managed to cover three installments, but I have two payments remaining this semester—$1,600 and $2,800—and an additional $6,000 due before the next semester. Although I have secured housing for next semester, the university requires full tuition to be paid before I can live off-campus.

My family back home consists of nine members, with my two elder brothers working hard to support everyone. However, they are already burdened by loans and unable to help. As the youngest, I am hopeful that this educational opportunity will one day allow me to give back to them and to the mission of spreading knowledge and kindness, as my father has done for so many years.

Any contribution, no matter the size, would be a tremendous blessing and encouragement. I am committed to studying hard, trusting God for provision, and pursuing my dream with all that I have. Thank you for considering supporting me in this journey.
