Hello everyone!!
Staci here and needing some help!
Back in February 2026, I had a colonoscopy done. I had 3 polyps come back; 2 were benign, and 1 came back as a tubular adenoma. The gastroenterologist noticed at the time of my colonoscopy that I had some rectal abnormalities that needed biopsied, but she was unable to do so. Therefore, I was referred to a colorectal surgeon. I went into the appointment for the colorectal surgeon, and they were not able to check anything at that appointment due to the pain I have in that area. So now they want to do an anorectal exam under anesthesia, remove an abnormal rectal mucosa that is mildly nodular, and send that off for biopsy, plus do other biopsies. I am having bloody mucous daily, lower right side inguinal lymph node swelling, bloating, and pain daily plus some abnormal stools so this is the next route they want to take to try to figure out a possible diagnosis. This procedure is over $8000, and I do not have any insurance to cover the cost as everything is out of pocket. Not to mention, I will have to have a follow-up appointment shortly after, so hopefully, I finally get some answers. My surgery is set for June 11 2026. Any and all help will be so greatly appreciated as for all of these medical bills are taking a toll on things financially and I have no clue what to even expect from this surgery as for I was told depending on what was found, I might be facing a 2nd surgery.
