Help Fund my Summer Program
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Sarah Ochoa Rodriguez and I'm a Hispanic High School student. I have been passionate about writing since I was young. I have dedicated most of my time to my academics and many extracurricular activities. I am doing this fundraiser because I recently applied and was accepted to the Sewanee Young Writers Conference with the Sewanee University of the South, a 2-week program in Nashville Tennessee. The program is prestigious and competitive, with a typical 15 percent acceptance rate. The goal of the conference is to gather a community of talented writers who will eventually become published writers by the professionals at the conference. I was also grateful to have received $1,500 in financial aid from the University, however, I still need to cover the costs for the remainder of the course, airfare, and ground transportation. We are a humble, simple immigrant family, my mom works for a non-profit organization, and my dad is a state employee. My dedication, effort, and good grades are giving me this amazing opportunity that would be a shame to waste due to financial issues. I humbly ask for your help, any contribution is greatly appreciated, if you are unable to donate but you know someone who might, please share this with them. Me and my family thank you for your support. Below I have linked one of my writing samples that got me into SYWC.
Thank You! Gracias!
