Hello, I am raising funds to pay for a sleep technologist certification course, which will allow me to work as a polysomnographic technologist.

A polysomnographic technologist is a medical professional that is certified to administer sleep studies, the tests commonly used to diagnose and study sleep apnea, narcolepsy, and other sleep disorders.

As many of my close friends and family know, I was diagnosed with narcolepsy when I was a teenager. Sleep disorders have been an ever-present piece of my life and my family’s life. This certification would allow me to serve others who struggle with sleep disorders in a very practical, real way. The field of sleep medicine is always growing, and the role of polysomnographic techs is one that is guaranteed to be here to stay. (Just ask my mother who recently finished her PhD doing research on narcoleptic patients.)
