Hi, everyone!
My name is Khrystyna Vozniak, a 28-year-old who has been living in the USA since I was 17. Originally from Ivano-Frankivsk, I moved to Kyiv with my family at the age of 9, which turned out to be a pivotal moment for my tennis career. To this day, I believe Kyiv is the greatest city in the world! I then came to the US to play college tennis, starting at Stony Brook University and later graduating from Mississippi State University. The SEC provided me with incredible preparation to pursue professional tennis, and I loved competing in such a high-level conference while being part of a great team. After overcoming several injuries and finishing my studies, I remained determined to continue my tennis career when the time was right.
However, it’s never been easy to pursue my dream of playing full-time, especially since I’ve been living alone in the US while my family stayed back in Ukraine. The biggest challenge was balancing the need to secure my life and my family's future, all while having a backup plan in case my tennis career didn’t work out. This led me to earn my MBA from the University of Tulsa, where I worked for the Men's Tennis team and met some of the best people. Tulsa changed my life, and after graduating in 2021, I received a job offer from a local law firm that allowed me to work remotely while continuing to pursue my tennis career. This role provided invaluable insights into the professional world, helping me grow both personally and professionally.
Unfortunately, while competing in Texas, war broke out in my home country, leaving me deeply affected. The trauma and heartbreak have been incredibly difficult, but they've also fueled my determination to represent Ukraine on the international tennis stage. This dream is not just for me, but for my family, my country, and my culture. Now, with two degrees and valuable professional experience, I’m more determined than ever to make this dream a reality. I am committed to representing something much greater than myself—for my family and Ukraine.
With your support, I can fund the essential aspects of my tennis career, including travel (flights, accommodation, car rental), tournament fees, and gear (rackets, strings, shoes, apparel).
Recent Achievements:
In 2024, I made my first debut at the W75 ITF Pro tournament in Rome, Georgia. I won two rounds and qualified for the main draw of a $75K event, earning my first WTA points! I also won a 15k Doubles Title in Tunisia. This experience solidified my belief that I can compete at the highest level of tennis. But I need more tournament experience to continue growing and competing internationally.
What's Next:
I’ve recently qualified for the main draw of a $100K event, where I defeated a player ranked in the top 280 in the world. Currently, I’m living, working, and training in Buffalo, NY, while preparing for my upcoming events. My immediate goal is to travel to Europe, where I’m awaiting my visa, so I can make better use of the funds raised and compete in more tournaments. In the meantime, I’m playing in the US as much as my work schedule and available funds allow.
I track all my expenses meticulously in an Excel sheet. Every penny I earn from my coaching job, plus the generous support I receive from you, is reinvested into my dream of making it on tour. My current goal is to compete in the Qualifying Rounds of Grand Slam tournaments!
I truly believe in my abilities, my work ethic, and my commitment to this journey. I KNOW I CAN DO THIS, but I need your help to continue pushing forward.
