Hi, I’ve never had to do this before, so please bear with me.

My mother in law Susan k. wallenius suddenly passed away on February 13. We don’t have the funds to cover her body pickup, the cleanup, the embalming, getting her dressed, and the funeral director to be present at the service for the cemetery that she picked because, for whatever reason, they don’t have a funeral director there anymore. Luckily, her casket, burial ground, and headstone were prepaid years ago, but we do not have the money for the funeral director charges. Any help that can be given is appreciated.

I have her end-of-life celebration set for February 26, but unless I raise these funds by then, I may have to push it back further, and I really don’t wanna have to do that because this is hard. It’s an extremely difficult time for my wife& I. honestly, I really just don’t know what else to say. She was a loving, caring woman, and she would’ve helped anybody out if she could. Please find it in your hearts to donate anything you can at this difficult time for my wife & I. I wish I could take away her pain, but I cant unfortunately. She really would like to have an open casket for her, which will cost $5000 for the funeral director to be there to do that plus all the other things that comes with that. We all want to see her one more time and hug her one more time. Unless we come up with at least $5000, my wife will have to do a closed casket & just have them put her right in the ground, & I don’t want to do see her have to do that. She didn’t deserve to go out like that. Again, please bear with me. I don’t know what words to say or how to do this. We are both so mentally exhausted and mentally unprepared. This is the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do, watch my wife be so broken! She doesn’t have any family to help, other than her aunt, and she’s too old to be doing anything, so it’s all fallen on me and my wife and we’ve never had to do this before. So she’s lost & I’m sitting here helpless, only praying to take her pain away. Please if you find it in your hearts to donate even $5 would me the world to us both. so I hope you all can see this update. Because the funeral home in Elgin Illinois Laird refused to pick her up until funds were paid. We are now forced to have a closed casket which is after the $100 we paid already & with the corners fee it’s now $2400 it would be nice to get at least $3000 in case there’s any other surprises or possibly to pay for some flowers. Any way her body looks so bad the corner said an open casket wouldn’t & isn’t recommended. & still until I pay these animals they wont even pick her up & prepare her. My wife is torn in a million pieces. She wanted to see her once more & hug her. She bought a dress for her to be laid to rest in but laird refused it. They literally said “no that’s not necessary, we will just put her in a zip up bag and seal her casket. I thought my wife was broken when she heard the news, this tore her apart. Then they “kindly” offered to buy back the coffin her mother wanted so much to be buried next to her soul mate. My wife said absolutely not!!! She wants to uphold her last wishes as much as possible. I just wanted to update everyone because we are only here for help. We’re so close & that’s because of all of you. I’ll keep you posted on if we can keep her same grave site closed casket arrangements for the day after my MIL bday 2/25 service was planned for 2/26. If I could take her pain from her i would instantly. Seeing the love of your life so broken is the worst thing ever.
