Please help fund Mom Betsy Lewis' funeral expenses

Hi, I'm Paul, Betsy's son and only child. I'm asking for help to lay my mother to rest and pay some of her end-of-life expenses. Here's how I find myself needing to ask for help...

During COVID I had to use my 401(k) and savings to live, and my mother also helped me quite a bit. What I didn't realize was that she was running out of money herself, and about a year ago I became 100% responsible for paying all of her expenses, including rent, utilities, car, insurance, health care expenses, etc. While I make a good salary, it barely covers both of our expenses, and definitely doesn't allow for anything to be saved for moments like this.

My Mom died suddenly this morning and I find myself in need to identify a funeral home within three days to take care of her remains. There are also other significant expenses associated with her end-of-life, including one month's rent that hasn't been paid, removing all of her belongings from her apartment (or paying another month's rent), etc.. While you may be thinking that I should suddenly have all of the money that I used to spend for her, it will take months to get to the point where I can break even, and this "life event" (as HR likes to call it) can't wait for me to get there.

My friends know that I rarely ask for help and this is difficult for me, but with family unable to take on the full amount and government assistance not available because of my income, I can't find another alternative. Any assistance you can provide will be appreciated and will be used only for her end-of-life arrangements. Thank you.
