Fund my journey to the Paris Paralympics!!
Hi, my name is Charlotte Bolton. I am an F41 (short stature) paralympic shot put and discus athlete from Tillsonburg, Ontario, Canada. I train full time with other Olympic and Paralympic hopefulls at the Athletics Canada East Hub, in Toronto, Ontario.
I worked very hard as an 17 year old in 2021, and qualifed for the 2020/21 Tokyo Paralympics, where I finished 6th in both F41 shot put and discus. It was a wonderful experience representing Canada, but a culture shock coming home to first year university.
After a rough couple of years, my focus is now solely on qualifying for the Paris Paralympics. I am not attending school, and my schedule does not allow for regular work. Pushing for the podium is now my goal!
This hard work and focus is starting to pay off. My results are improving, flirting with my previous personal bests, and I was named to the Canadian Parapan Am Games team last November. Another wonderful experience; the hard work earned me a bronze medal!!
I train five days a week, and this spring is packed full of travel and competitions as I try to increase my world rankings and/or achieve one of the Athletics Canada standards, to guarantee my spot on the Paris Paralympic team.
Travel is for longer periods of time and further distance than in previous years. I spent most of 3 weeks in Chula Vista California. Very soon I am flying to Tulsa Oklahoma to attend two days of meets. In June I am attening a World Para Athletics (WPA) Grand Prix Paris France. Various meets here and there in Ontario seem close in comparison. There are 8 or more competions planned for the next few months, plus Bell Trials (Nationals) in Montreal in late June! It is a very full schedule.
Any funding received will help offset my extensive travel costs! Any amount will help.
