This summer, I’ve been given the opportunity to attend the Lone Star State program — an experience that would help me grow academically and personally in ways I’ve been working toward for a long time. Programs like this don’t come around often, and being selected means so much to me.

However, the cost of attending is a real challenge for my family. We work hard and do our best to manage everything, but adding this expense on top of our regular responsibilities isn’t easy. I don’t want finances to be the reason I miss out on something that could shape my future.
