Hi, my name is Fatoumata and I am fundraising for the holding of activities of the 13th Symposium MSAS 2022 at the University of Segou, Mali (West Africa).

Support the holding of high-level scientific activities and the training of young people in civics and entrepreneurship in Mali - July 28-August 5, 2022

The Malian Society of Applied Sciences, a not-for-profit scientific organisation, brings together Malian scientists from outside and inside who have joined hands since 1995 for the advancement of science and applied research in Mali, their country of origin in collaboration with the mAliWatch, Civisme et Bénévolat Initiative, a non-profit organization founded by Malians living in North America (http://maliwatch.ml/index-page_id=292.html).

For more than two decades, with the help of the Malian authorities, the Malian Symposium of Applied Sciences (MSAS) was held every two years in Bamako and since 2020, every year. The MSAS symposium has regularly received and supported participants from Africa and other continents. The 13th edition of the MSAS 2022 symposium will take place from July 31st August 5th, 2022 at the University of Ségou, a university in Mali and requires an estimated budget of 150 Millions FCFA (US $250 000-300 000). Because of this year's economic situation; and also the fact that Mali was under embargo since January 2022; the organizers fear that the support of the Malian State will not be sufficient to cover all the expenses related to the holding of the 13th edition at the University of Ségou, 4th region of Mali.

It is for this reason that we seek the help of people of good will who would like to contribute to the realization of this flagship event; which has become a showcase in French-speaking Africa, the only one of its kind.

The 2022 edition will be preceded, during three days (July 25-28, 2022), by youth civic education activities and training in entrepreneurship, e-Commerce, digital Marketing, among others. There is a need for money to pay for food, lodging, return transportation Bamako-Ségou and course material. The instructors and scientists who participate are volunteers but receive a symbolic amount for their trip from abroad.

Your help, by donating to this funding campaign, will not only enable close to a hundred young people to receive high-calibre training in civics, entrepreneurship and others; but also allow Malian scientists from the diaspora and from the interior, to contribute again this year to the advancement of science in Mali.

Soutenir la tenue des activités scientifiques de haut niveau et la formation des jeunes en civisme et entreprenariat au Mali - 28 juillet - 5 août 2022

La Société malienne des sciences appliquées est une organisation scientifique à but non lucratif regroupant des scientifiques maliens de l'extérieur et l'intérieur qui se sont donnés la main depuis 1995 pour l'avancement des sciences et de la recherche appliquée au Mali, leur pays d’origine en collaboration avec l’Initiative mAliWatch, Civisme et Bénévolat, organisme sans but lucratif fondé par les Maliens vivant en Amérique du Nord (http://maliwatch.ml/index-page_id=292.html).

Pendant plus de deux décennies, avec l'aide des autorités maliennes, le symposium malien des sciences appliquées (MSAS) s'est tenu tous les deux ans à Bamako et depuis 2020, tous les ans. Le symposium MSAS a régulièrement reçu et soutenu des participants d'Afrique et d'autres continents. La 13e édition du symposium MSAS 2022 aura lieu du 31 juillet au 5 août 2022 à l’Université de Ségou, une jeune université du Mali et requiert un budget estimatif de cent cinquante millions de Francs CFA (150 000 000 FCFA), environ 250-300 000 $ US. À cause de la conjoncture économique de cette année; et du fait que le Mali était placé sous embargo depuis janvier 2022; les organisateurs craignent que le soutien de l'État malien ne soit pas suffisant pour couvrir toutes les dépenses reliées à la tenue de la 13e édition à l'Université de Ségou, 4e région du Mali.

C'est pour cette raison que nous sollicitons l’aide des personnes de bonne volonté qui aimeraient contribuer à la réalisation de cet évènement phare qui est devenu une vitrine en Afrique francophone, le seul du genre.

L'édition 2022 sera précédée, pendant trois jours (25-28 juillet 2022), d'activités d'éducation citoyenne, de formations des jeunes en entreprenariat, e-Commerce, Marketing digital, entre autres. Il y a un besoin d'argent pour financer les dépenses liées, par exemple, à l’organisation du symposium à Ségou, la nourriture, le logement, le transport aller-retour Bamako-Ségou, le matériel de cours… Les instructeurs et les scientifiques qui participent sont bénévoles mais reçoivent un montant symbolique pour leur voyage de l’étranger.

Votre aide, en contribuant un don à cette campagne, permettra, non seulement à une centaine de jeunes de recevoir des formations de haut calibre en civisme, entreprenariat et autres; mais aussi aux scientifiques maliens de la diaspora et de l’intérieur, de contribuer encore cette année à l’avancement de la science au Mali.
