I’m Hanan Attal, launching this fundraiser for my friend Mohammed Waleed and his family to help them rebuild their life, their destroyed home, and cover essential costs of daily living after the devastating war in Gaza.

And this is his story:

Dear friends, family, and compassionate strangers,

We are reaching out to you in a time of unimaginable crisis. As the conflict in Gaza intensifies, our family of seven—five adults and one child—finds ourselves in urgent need of your help. The situation here is dire, and we are desperately seeking funds to rebuild our lives, our home, and sustain ourselves through these turbulent times.

Who We Are

We are a close-knit family trying to navigate through the chaos and danger that has become our daily reality. The violence and instability have destroyed our home and taken away our livelihood. The safety and well-being of our loved ones are our highest priorities.

Our Current Situation

Living in Gaza, we face constant threats from airstrikes, ground assaults, and a severe lack of basic necessities. Our home has been destroyed, and no place is truly safe. We have limited access to food, water, medical supplies, and electricity. The psychological toll on our family, especially on our young child, is immense.

The Hardships We Face

Ibrahim, our 8-year-old brother, suffers from several diseases, lack of growth, various infections, skin infections, and a stomach virus due to the lack of clean water and essential food. Despite his fragile health, he is forced to help the family by selling juices and candy to other kids on the street for us to survive. The constant airstrikes and 24-hour noise from air forces rob him of sleep, adding to his distress. Ibrahim used to be registered in a soccer academy because of his talent for soccer, but he has lost at least three of his teammates who have become martyrs. This has left him terrified and changed, and he now needs psychological help. Once a carefree Ibrahim loved painting, he now struggles to survive in war-torn Gaza.

Our father is very sick, having had heart surgery before the war started. He suffers from shortness of breath and frequent panic attacks, which have worsened due to the ongoing conflict. He and my brother also lost their jobs, which were our only main sources of income.

Our mother struggles daily, washing our clothes by hand without essential supplies and cooking over an open fire under the harsh sun. The smoke from the fire has severely affected her lungs, adding to her suffering.

Me and my brother have lost our right to education as the war has forced us to leave university.

Our Dire Situation

It has been eight months since we became homeless. The horrors we face each day are indescribable. Every day, my parents, my brothers, and I are consumed with the struggle to find and provide water and food. We walk miles daily in search of these essentials, often coming up empty-handed due to scarcity or lack of money. We’ve lost everything and have become homeless, jobless, and sick. This is why we are begging for your help to rebuild our life and home and meet our essential living needs.

What We Need

To ensure our survival and future, we are seeking to raise $86,800.

These funds will be used to:

Rebuild Our Home – Help us repair or rebuild our destroyed house so we can have a safe place to live again.

Legal Documents – Cover the costs for issuing necessary documents and IDs lost during the war.

Basic Necessities – Secure food, water, and shelter for our family as we work to rebuild our life.

Clothing – Buy essential clothing as we have lost all our belongings.

Medical Supplies – Obtain essential medications and healthcare, particularly for Ibrahim and our father.

Psychological Help – Provide the necessary psychological support for Ibrahim, who has been deeply traumatized.

Support and Stability – Cover at least six months of rent and basic needs, including food and healthcare, to help us stabilize and recover.
